Program Overview

The Exercise and Sport Science program of study is designed to introduce and prepare a pathway for students to enter the physical therapy, exercise science, athletic training, or sports medicine healthcare fields. Students will be able to apply technical knowledge and understanding of organizational and professional health and wellbeing; legal and ethical issues; emergency care and infection control; injury prevention and protection; treatment, rehabilitation, and clinical skills; nutrition and hydration; exercise science and prescription; and human development and mental health.

Fitness is an integral part of the Exercise and Sports Science program. Throughout the year, the students will be involved in learning, demonstrating, and leading various exercises and rehabilitation techniques. These exercises will include but are not limited to cardio and aerobic activities, weightlifting, stretching, and various therapy techniques. Students will participate in these activities to gain a full understanding of the injury and rehabilitation process.
