Our goals are to assist students in being able to interpret and apply course concepts to current scientific issues and studies, and to develop an understanding of how science impacts their daily lives. Based on our department goals, we have developed curriculum to provide: Hands-on experience conducting scientific experimentsExposure to current/relevant supplementary science materialsStrategies to increase literacy in scienceInstruction designed to incorporate students’ various learning styles, interests, skills, and prior knowledge and experienceA variety of science courses are offered at DCTS. In order to meet the DCTS Graduation requirements, students are required to successfully complete 3 credits of science.
