The DCTS school social worker collaborates with school counselors, administrators, student services, academic and CTE teachers, students, and families. The social worker to identifies and addresses barriers to success, through resource integration and supportive services. The social worker is the assigned McKinney-Vento liaison, the foster care point of contact, and addresses student attendance concerns. The social worker also provides crisis response and assessment, as well as brief supportive counseling. Additionally, social worker oversees the Wolverines ROCK (Resources Opportunities and Connections for Kids).

10th, 11th, and 12th grade students will have the opportunity to visit with College Admissions professionals in the DCTS gym.

Mrs. Short will be coming to program and academic classrooms to assist students with applying to Penn College for College in the High School Courses.
She will be in select programs on April 16th, and working with academic teachers to pull students on April 20th.
The counselors will be hosting a college planning meeting for 11th graders on April 24th in the Auditorium at 8:00am. There will be an announcement made for all interested 11th graders to report to the auditorium.
Mrs. Resto along with a HACC representative will be helping students to apply to HACC for College in the High School courses in the Auditorium on April 30th at 8:00am. Students will be notified in advance.
This camp is designed for students interested in health sciences or considering a career in healthcare. Specifically, this camp offers hands-on, immersive experiences in the fields of athletic training, clinical mental health counseling, exercise science, nursing, physical therapy, and speech therapy. Space is limited, so we encourage you to share this opportunity with interested students soon.

ACademics & Scheduling
Drop/Add Period: Students are permitted to request class changes only during the first two weeks of the semester during what is called the add/drop period. Requests are typically fulfilled if the issue is due to a scheduling error, missing class, or a need for a different academic level (honors, CP, regular). Changes based on teacher preference or lunch preference are not permitted.
** Starting in the 26-27 school year, DCTS students will be required to have 28 credits to graduate. This includes the new addition of a personal finance course as required by PDE (see below). Current Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors must take personal finance (.5 credits, one semester) in order to graduate.
