Open Position: Diesel Technician – Trailer Technician (FT Summer Help)

Job Opportunity: Diesel Technician Internship – Summer Help
DRT is excited to offer a full-time summer opportunity for current diesel technician students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in tractor/trailer repair and maintenance. This position provides valuable real-world training and may lead to full-time permanent employment for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on semi-trailers in accordance with DOT standards
Remove and replace tires, brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races, and related components
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and lighting systems
Repair or replace chassis components including springs, spring hangers, equalizers, slider assemblies, axles, and subframes
Repair mud flap brackets and dolly leg assemblies
Repair or replace trailer flooring, rub rails, doors, and door trim
Perform structural repairs to roofs, panels, nose panels, and upper/lower rails
Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on refrigeration units
Support preventative maintenance and basic repairs on tractors
Qualifications:
Completion of or current enrollment in a qualified diesel technician program, or up to 1 year of relevant experience
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Owning your own tools is preferred but not required
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Commitment to following all safety and health regulations
Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, climb, or sit for extended periods
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Additional Requirements:
Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening
