Mask Change Effective February 14

Effective February 14, 2022: Masks are strongly encouraged, but not required at DCTS.

ARP ESSER Requirement

School Transportation:

In accordance with the Federal Mandate, masking for students and drivers is required when on a school bus to and from school or to any school events.

Contact Tracing:

Students, staff, and educators who are in close contact with a positive case and are not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 will not be subject to restriction from school or school activities, regardless of vaccination status.

Students and staff who test positive for COVID-19 or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 will be required to isolate for 10 days regardless of vaccination status. Students and staff can choose to participate in “test to return” by testing negative on day five (5) or return to school wearing a mask for the remaining five (5) days of the 10-day isolation period.

Contact tracing will not occur during any period of optional masking.

Potential Change in Masking Requirement:

It is possible that DCTS could return to a mask required learning environment should the building transmission rate exceed 3% (36 positive cases) or if legal requirements regarding masking change.
