PA State Emissions Certification

 

emissionsThis class provides the coursework and testing needed to receive the Pennsylvania Enhanced Emissions Inspector Certification.  This class consists of theory on emissions, demonstration on Dynamometer gas analyzing and OBDI equipment. Successful completion of this course and test qualifies the individual to inspect vehicles for emissions certification.

As of December 2003, every emissions inspection station must employ at least one certified emissions inspector.  ALL registants must vist the PA Training Portal (www.patrainingportal.com) AT LEAST ONE FULL BUSINESS DAY  before the first class day.  An additional fee of $39.99 is required to register ont he portal and obtain all student materials needed for the class as well as gaining acess to the online exam.  DO NOT attempt to open the exam prior to taking the theory hours or this will be counted as an attempt and counted as a fail test.  All registered Emissions Class students must produce their receipt from Parsons condirming that they have registered and have access tothe test online on the first night of class at DCTS. 

Cost $160 (We accept Visa, MasterCard )

Acceptable forms of payment:

Personal Pay: Credit/Debit or Money Order, or Cash

Company Pay: Company Credit Card or Company Check

Registration and fee deadline is one week prior to the first class. Individuals are not considered registered with DCTS until payment is made and a completed application is submitted to the Adult & Continuing Education Office.

Note:  You are not fully registered to take the Emissions Course until you additionally register on www.patrainingportal.com and gain access to the class material and online exam.

 

A copy of your current Driver's License must accompany your application.

 

  • Registration with PENNDOT must be completed at patrainingportal.com no later than one week prior to the first class. Please contact Adult Ed for instructions on how to register.
  • Individuals are required to attend all three evenings.
  • Inspection Certification is valid for 2 years. You will then be required to take an on-line Re-Certification course to maintain your certification.
