Mrs Mortzfeldt, Executive Director

Mrs. Cindy Mortzfeldt – Executive Director

Mrs. Cindy Mortzfeldt serves as the Executive Director for the Capital Area Intermediate Unit and as the Superintendent of Record for the Dauphin County Technical School and the Cumberland Perry Area Vocational Technical School. She has over 30 years in the education system and earned her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University. She received her Master’s Degree in Reading and administrative certificates from Shippensburg University. She holds a Letter of Eligibility, Principal K-12 Certification, Supervisor of Reading Certification, Reading Specialist Certification, ESL Certification, Middle Level Mathematics Certification, and Instructional II Teaching Certification for Elementary Education.

She began her career as a teacher and reading specialist in the Southern Fulton School District and then as a reading specialist in Philadelphia before relocating to the Central Pennsylvania region. She began working at the CAIU in 1986 as a reading specialist in the Nonpublic School Services program. In 2004, she served as the supervisor for that program where she facilitated educational services for students enrolled in nonpublic schools. In 2009, she became the Assistant Executive Director of the CAIU and provided executive oversight of the Nonpublic School Services program, federal programs, board policies, and emergency planning. In 2010-11, she served as the Acting Executive Director for the Capital Area Intermediate Unit.

Dr. Peggy Grimm- Administrative Director

Dr. Peggy Grimm- Administrative Director

Dr. Peggy Grimm joined the staff at Dauphin County Technical School in July, 2007 as the high school principal. She began her career in education as a long-term substitute at DCTS in 1986. In 1988, Dr. Grimm was employed by the Central Dauphin School District as an art teacher, primarily at East and Central Dauphin High Schools. After receiving her Master's Degree in School Administration (2003) from Temple University, she became an assistant principal at Big Spring High School. Dr. Grimm earned her Doctorate of Education in 2009 from Widener University. After serving as the DCTS high school principal from 2007-2012, Dr. Grimm was appointed as Assistant Director in August 2012 and Administrative Director in May 2013.

Mrs Traynor - Assistant Director

Mrs. Sandy Traynor - Assistant Director

Mrs. Sandy Traynor joined Dauphin County Technical School as Assistant Director in May 2013. She was previously employed as Assistant Director/Principal at the Franklin County Career and Technology Center. Sandy is a former Business Teacher and Cooperative Education/Workforce Development Coordinator with the Chambersburg School District. She earned a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education (minor in Anthropology), and an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. In addition, Sandy holds the following certifications: Vocational Director Certification, Penn State University, K-12 Principal Certification, Shippensburg University, and Cooperative Education Certification, Penn State University.

 

Miss Zaharick, Business Administrator

Miss Maria J. Zaharick – Business Administrator

Miss Maria J. Zaharick joined the staff at Dauphin County Technical School as Business Administrator in January 2002. She started her career at the Harrisburg office KPMG, LLP in October 1997 as an Assistant Accountant and also served a Supervising Senior Accountant for the firm. Miss Zaharick received her Master's Degree in School Business Leadership from Wilkes University in 2009, Bachelor's Degree from Shippensburg University in 1997 and her Certified Public Accountant license in October 2000.

 

Dr Fox, Principal

Dr. Jon Fox - Principal

Dr. Jon Fox is a graduate of Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Studies. Jon received his Masters of Leadership and Liberal Studies Degree from Duquesne University and Administrative Certificate from Shippensburg University. He earned his Superintendent Letter of Eligibility and Doctorate of Education in Education Leadership. Dr. Fox previously served as an Assistant Principal at Central Dauphin High School.

 

Mrs Mosteller, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Gwen Mosteller - Assistant Principal

Mrs. Gwen Mosteller is a graduate of Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology/General Science. Gwen received her Masters of Education degree in Educational Administration and Principal Certificate from Shippensburg University. She also obtained her Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from Temple University. Mrs. Mosteller previously served as an Assistant Principal at Williams Valley High School.

 

Dr Blanch, Assistant Principal

Dr. Nicholas Blanch - Assistant Principal

Dr. Nicholas P. Blanch joined the staff of the DCTS in the fall of 2007 as an Assistant Principal. He previously taught in the Southern Huntingdon County and West Perry school districts. He is Social Studies certified and has his Masters of Education, with a major in Teaching & Curriculum.  Dr. Blanch also has his K-12 Principal certification from The Pennsylvania State University, and received his Doctorate in Education from Immaculata University.  Dr. Blanch is also, proudly, an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army, where he served on active duty for four years as a Patriot Missile Operator.

 

Mr. Clint Heath - Assistant Principal

Mr. Clint Heath - Assistant Principal

Mr. Clint Heath joined Dauphin County Technical School in 2007 as a School Counselor.  He is a graduate of Northampton Community College receiving a degree in Mortuary Science as well as a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology.  Mr. Heath also earned a Masters of Education in Secondary School Counseling and Pennsylvania State Counseling Licensure from Kutztown University and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and K-12 Principal Certification from Edinboro University.  Mr. Heath began serving as Assistant Principal at DCTS in 2014.

 

Ms Rodriguez, Technology Coordinator

Ms. Priscilla Rodriguez - Technology Coordinator

Ms. Priscilla Rodriguez joined the staff at Dauphin County Technical School in December 2008 as the Data Specialist and became Technology Coordinator in July 2009.  Ms. Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems and Management from Albright College and is pursuing her Master's of Education Degree with a major in Instructional Technology through Duquesne University.  Before joining DCTS she worked at the Harrisburg School District as the Pennsylvania Information Management Systems Administrator. 

Zeager 2017

Miss Jan Zeager - Special Education Director

Miss Jan Zeager is a graduate of Bob Jones University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish. Jan received her Masters of Education Degree in Special Education from Millersville University. She also obtained her Special Education Supervisory Certification from Millersville. Miss Zeager was previously employed as an emotional support teacher at Middletown Area High School.

 

 

Maroney

Dr. Barbara R. Maroney - Adult Education Coordinator

Dr. Barb Maroney has several years of experience working with adult students in the higher education arena.   This work included administration, enrollment management and program development at the associate, bachelor, and master degree levels.  She has a Doctor of Philosophy in Administration and Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Maroney has a master's degree in Counseling Psychology and a bachelor's degree in Social Work from Temple University in Philadelphia.  She joined DCTS as the Adult Education Coordinator in October of 2015.

  Mrs Green, Food Service Director

Mrs. Denise Green - Food Service Director

Mrs. Denise Green joined Dauphin County Technical School as the Food Service Director in 2010. She is a graduate of Central Dauphin High School. Mrs. Green began her career in Dietary at Villa Theresa Nursing Home at the age of 16. She has been in food service for over 30 years and in school food service since 1998. With the ever changing Government Regulations and the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, she continually strives to meet the challenges and opportunities to serve our students a healthy, tasty and enjoyable Breakfast and Lunch every day.
