This program will introduce students to the wonderful world of Veterinary Medicine. Students will use both theory and hands-on learning to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for taking care of small, exotic, and large animals. This program will prepare students for working in a Veterinary facility as a Veterinary Assistant. Students will also have the opportunity to continue their education in a Veterinary Technology degree program or Pre-Veterinary degree program. The Veterinary Assistant program is endorsed by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, and NOCTI. Students will work toward the Certificates of Achievement approved from these three Associations through program completion and exam approval. This program awards students with working with live animals daily. If you want to make your love for animals a career, this field might be for you!
